The Story of the Twitter Banner

In a keynote talk, April shared a vision for transitioning the ideas valued in the tech industry to create a healthier culture.

Someone watched the talk and reached out on Twitter, asking if it was OK to use the slide as her Twitter cover image. To make things easier, April converted the slide to the image below.

It unexpectedly spread widely throughout the tech community, which was encouraging because it’s clearly time for change in this industry!

That said, these are just a sketch of values April finalized in a hotel room the night before a talk to illustrate a point. These are not official Compassionate Coding values or meant to be prescriptive or exhaustive.

We’ll leave the image here, though, so you can use it if the values resonate with you.
